After 12 years, I’m leaving Dropbox. Okay, I know it’s hardly the most exciting declaration, but after over a decade of use, it feels.. substantial.
For so much of the 2010s, Dropbox felt like it was the underpinnings of so much of my digital life. Working across multiple devices felt impossible without it, and support for it was baked into a wide range of apps and services.
Since then, however, iCloud has making the de facto storage space for so many apps on Apple’s platforms, and I was finding myself increasingly split across the two services. And given that deep level of integration, if I have to let go of one file sync ing system, Dropbox seems like the easy choice.
